Every little step matters.

If we remain open and willing, life never stops teaching us. Growth doesn’t come from knowing everything—it comes from humility, reflection, and the courage to learn something new, even when it challenges us.

I recently came across an article from The Simplicity Habit titled “How to Get Your Life Together: 12 Simple Habits to Help Improve Your Life.” At its heart, the message is straightforward: small, intentional habits—practised consistently—can lead to meaningful change.

And that truth extends far beyond productivity or self-improvement.

The Danger of “Stinking Thinking”

When we stop learning, we don’t stand still—we drift. We become a law unto ourselves, convinced that our way is best, even when our thinking quietly enslaves us. Pride disguises itself as independence, and before we realise it, we are trapped by patterns we refuse to question.

Simplicity has a way of cutting through that noise. It reminds us that clarity often begins with honesty.

The Three Certainties of Life

No matter who we are or where we come from, there are three constants none of us escape:

Change.
Death.
Judgement.

These are uncomfortable truths, but necessary ones. They force us to lift our eyes beyond daily routines and ask deeper questions—questions about meaning, legacy, and eternity.

A Question Worth Asking

When the time comes to meet our Creator, how will we stand before Him?

Do we come relying on our own righteousness, carrying the weight of our sin nature—something Scripture tells us God cannot accept?
Or do we come in humility, placing our trust in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ?

I like to imagine that moment not as fear-filled, but relational. Christ saying, “Father… this son or daughter reading Alex’s blog is with Me.” 😊

That is not earned through effort—it is received through faith.

Life Is Still About Choices

Habits matter. Thoughts matter. Faith matters. And every day presents us with choices—some small, some eternal.

If this reflection resonates with you, I encourage you to read the article linked below and consider not just how to organise your life—but how to align it.

Because in the end, life is all about choices—and the most important ones are rarely accidental.
